Junior Software Engineer

Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer to join a an innovative design and manufacturing company based in North Devon, offering excellent Company benefits of Life Assurance 4 x salary, Study/Training support opportunities, Holidays and Pension and a salary up to £30,000.  (This is a site based role meaning that you will be based within the office in North Devon). 

As an experienced Software Engineer you will support the design and development of software systems and hardware for industrial visual monitoring products. The visual systems are primarily based on Linux-based hardware that employs industry standard network protocols, with user interface and control for the visual monitoring system facilitated using .NET (all versions) technologies from Microsoft

• Write clean and efficient code in C, C++, and C# programming languages

• Test and debug software applications to ensure high-quality and reliable products

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and marine biologists

• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering Analysis and

correcting software deficiencies and coding faults

• Peer review of specifications, change requests, designs, and code

As an experienced Software Engineer you will have the following qualities:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Technologies - .NET
• Experience with visual technology hardware and industry-standard network protocols (e.g.,
TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, etc.)
• Knowledge of software design principles and best practices
• Hands-on experience in building camera systems
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
